David Tyson and Ellen Murphy are licensed clinical social workers in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area who provide highly effective professional assistance for individual adults, adolescents, couples, families and groups. The husband and wife team helps clients improve personal and interpersonal awareness, create a healthy sense of self and enhance their performance at school, on the job as well as relational dynamics.
They address anxiety and depression, grief and loss, traumatic stress, and moving through transitions. In addition, they work with couples and families in conflict, separation and divorce, and with chronic or terminal illness.
Ellen and David each provide personal consultation and offer counseling, psychotherapy or coaching tailored to meet a client's needs. Serving as an ally, they can help individuals overcome obstacles, explore options and develop successful coping skills--ultimately moving from stress and distress to success and fulfillment.
Ellen and David work independently in private practice and regularly lead educational seminars. As a couple, they host regular peer supervision groups where they collaborate, share ideas about their work, while offering support and alternative perspectives that may be utilized in treatment.
